Elizabeth Anderson is the Women’s Equality Summit Coordinator for The National Council of Women’s Organization’s (NCWO). She also serves as Vice-President of Events on the DC Council Board for Big Brother’s Big Sister’s. A native “Jersey Girl”, she moved to Washington, DC to pursue her BS in Political Science. As an AmeriCorps volunteer she spent one year as a residential coordinator, overseeing fifty homeless women recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. In 2005, she spent six months living and working on a research project in Prague, Czech Republic. Her research focused on a survey of the levels of violence against women in post-communist countries. Personal interviews were conducted with women from the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Romania, and Poland. Over the years, she has been involved in all levels of politics including: interning for former Congressmen Robert Menendez (NJ- D); working as a campaign organizer for former Senator John Corzine; and conducting strategic research for the American Federation of State, City, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). She has received community service awards from Samaritan Inns and The Coral Network. In her spare time, she mentors a thirteen year old, young, adult feminist. Her passion for travel has inspired her to begin developing a fund that will help young women of color study abroad.
Jeni Betts

Jeni graduated from The University of Northern Iowa in 2003 with a B.A. in Vocal Music. During college she spent time studying music and language abroad in Italy. After graduation she lived and worked in New York City for two years. Since returning to Iowa in 2006, she has been studying for a second degree in Public Admistation. When she's not in class, you'll find her working full-time as an office manager for a local business. Jeni enjoys volunteering and has worked for various community groups including the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Iowa. In her spare time she enjoys: traveling, classical music, boating, and playing with her nieces. Jeni lives in Cedar Falls, Iowa with her husband Hassan and their puppy Hope.
Sophie Brion
Miami Chapter

A dedicated advocate for social change, Sophie Brion is a graduate of the University of Miami in Political Science and Philosophy. She has worked for the ACLU of Florida, where she was responsible for organizing the ACLU’s successful campaign to establish civilian review of police with subpoena power. She has also worked for Planned Parenthood and currently directs the Women’s Advocacy Project for the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade which focuses on the issues impacting the lives of women and girls. In her free time she serves on the Board of the League of Women Voters and is a fledgling kayaker.
Melannie Chard
New York City Chapter
Melannie Chard has been a member of the YWTF since April 2006 and served as Director of Membership and Outreach in 2007. She currently works in the appraisals department at Sotheby's Auction House and is responsible for overseeing appraisals and consignments for clients with large collections of fine and decorative art. Melannie has worked as a design consultant and multi-media coordinator for Kingsbridge Risk Solutions in London and Renee Fotouhi Fine Art in New York City. She holds a degree in broadcast journalism from Central Michigan University and studied international journalism at American Intercontinental University in London.
Dana Dabek-Milstein

Dana Dabek-Milstein is the Director of Leadership Programs for the Alice Paul Institute and is responsible for the management of the Alice Paul Leadership Program, which offers a menu of workshops and programs for adolescent girls and seeks to develop future leaders through the lens of women's history. She received her B.A. in English and Women's and Gender Studies from The College of New Jersey and her Masters in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Women's Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves as a member of the Ernesta Drinker Ballard Book Prize selection committee for WOMEN'S WAY, is an alumnae of the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership, and is a member of Philadelphia Young Nonprofit Leaders. She lives in Mount Laurel, NJ and enjoys reading, hiking, yoga, journaling, and being a groupie for her husband Jason’s musical pursuits.
Stefanie Freatman
Seattle, Washington Chapter
Stefanie graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies. During her time in college she interned in the WA State Senate and has worked in politics in one aspect or another ever since. She has served as the Director of Legislation for the Community Colleges of Spokane – her home town – and continues to lobby the state legislature for better higher education funding. Stefanie has also worked as a Senate legislative aide for several state Senators and has organized various state-wide initiative campaigns. In the fall of 2008 she plans to attend Seattle University with the goal of achieving her Masters in Public Administration. On a more personal note, Stefanie enjoying traveling, learning to play her new electric guitar, writing short stories, reading, and gardening.
Andi McClanahan
Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter
Andi McClanahan is an Assistant Professor of Communication with studies with Gender, Politics, and Cultural Studies at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. A first generation college student, Andi is committed to working as a mentor to students who are also first generation college students. Andi’s research focuses on alternative life choice on single women including the choice to remain single and/or childless, and the societal stigma attached to these choices. Additionally, she works to deconstruct the damaging consumer ideal of romance perpetuated in the media.
In addition to teaching and research, Andi is active in Northeastern Pennsylvania as a director for the Pocono Network of Professionals, a member of the Pocono Progressives, and as organizer of the Weekly Professor column in the Pocono Record.
Constance Miller
Chicago Chapter
Constance is a feminist with an ardor for human rights, social policy, and debunking gender stereotypes. She currently works as a Children and Families Program Specialist with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families in Chicago where she partners regularly with the Department's Office on Women's Health. She received a dual B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Iowa and an M.P.P. with concentrations in Public & Nonprofit Leadership & Management and Women & Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. Constance has previously worked with Planned Parenthood of Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota, the Women's Foundation of Minnesota, WATCH (Women At The Court House), and was a Class of 2003 Presidential Management Fellow. She is blissfully married to the wonderful, talented feminist Matthew M. F. Miller and has three very lazy cats.
Jen Reger
Philly Chapter
Jen graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Women's Studies from Rosemont College in Suburban Philadelphia and received her master's degree in Women's Health and Sexuality from Towson University in Maryland. Jen works in the field of higher education and is also an adjunct professor in Women's Studies. Her previous experiences have included directing a Women's Center, running a women's group for international students, acting in The Vagina Monologues at West Chester University, and working on women's health issues in Government Relations at the National Organization for Women (NOW) in Washington, D.C. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, travel, and holistic health. She lives in Haverford, PA.
