YWTF:DC Invites you to All Our Voices: An Intergenerational Discussion on Feminism
This panel discussion will explore how women with varying levels of experience in feminism have built and shaped the women’s movement; what those newer to feminism are bringing to it; and how feminists of all ages and backgrounds can work together and learn from each other. Join us and add YOUR VOICE to this dialogue on feminism’s past, present, and future and its current challenges and opportunities.
This event will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. and the panel will begin at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the National Education Association Building located at 1201 16th Street, NW
Moderated by Martha Burk with panelists:
-Allendra Letsome (Membership Vice President of the National Organization for Women)
-Patricia E. Ortman (retired women's studies professor and founder of Girls Gotta Run Foundation, Inc.)
-Miriam Perez (Editor at Feministing.com, blogger, and reproductive justice activist)
-Dr. E. Faye Williams (National Chair of the National Congress of Black Women)
-Ashley B. Carson (Executive Director for OWL - The Voice of Midlife and Older Women)
