Board Meetings
Everybody loves to plan! In June and July, YWTF Chicago is taking a break from its normal board meeting schedule to hold a Strategic Planning sessions. Stay tuned for upcoming meetings and more ways to get involved.
YWTF Chicago Voter Education Event
As part of YWTF National's get-out-the-vote initiative, we are holding a non-partisan voter education event at 6:00 PM on September 25 in Rubloff Auditorium on the Loyola University Water Tower Campus downtown. The goal of this event is to inform the Chicago community of the candidates' positions on issues that affect younger women. The panel will be made up of candidates seeking to represent Chicago districts at the state level.
Planning for this event is ongoing. If you are interested in being involved in the planning, please contact us at ywtf-chicago@hotmail.com. The next planning meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 30 at 6:00 PM at Intelligentsia (3123 N. Broadway). This meeting is open to the public. We hope to see you there!
Women's Leadership Mentoring Event and Update
The Women's Leadership Mentoring Program (WLMP) is hosting a panel on women and the non-profit leadership crisis on Monday, July 28th from 5:30-7:30 PM at Robert Morris College. This is an excellent opportunity to hear an experienced Executive Director, a Researcher, a first-time Executive Director, and a younger woman non-profit professional (who happens to be YWTF's very own Heather Evans!) discuss the current state of non-profit leadership and younger women's roles in its future. Please contact ywtf-chicago@hotmail.com for more information and we hope to see you there!
Non-Profit For Your Profit: Salary Negotiation Workshop a Success
We had a great turnout at the non-profit salary negotiation workshop on April 29. A special thank you to our speaker Erin Ryan, Executive Director of the Lincoln Park Community Shelter.
